Dr. Lawrence completed his four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago where he trained beside Dr. McComb. Prior to entering the oral surgery program, Dr. Lawrence attended Dental School at the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. While training in Chicago Dr. Lawrence had extensive experience in outpatient anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, and pathology.
Dr. Lawrence is originally from central Pennsylvania and grew up playing a variety of sports, achieving a football scholarship at Robert Morris University. There, he earned captain honors his senior year, as well as the Northeast Conference scholar-athlete of the year. He was also a semifinalist for the 2009 William V. Campbell Trophy, where he lost out to Florida quarterback Tim Tebow for the honor.
