Jaw Surgery

Orthognathic surgery, also known as corrective jaw surgery, is required when one or both of the jaws are misaligned due to either excessive overgrowth, undergrowth, or injury. The result of this misalignment is teeth that do not appear to fit together properly and difficulty with jaw functioning. Corrective jaw surgery is a way to move the bones of the upper and lower jaws into proper alignment. This procedure is often performed on patients after their teeth could not be placed into proper alignment with the help of braces. After surgery your teeth and jaws will meet and function properly, and your facial appearance often improves as well.
